I would personally let them be. If they choose to reach out as adults, then you can engage. However, if they are just kids, they would be going against their parent's wishes, which could reflect poorly on you.

Making friends in your 20s?
Hi,
I recently moved to a big city (London) on my own and have been feeling quite lonely.
Can you suggest some ways to meet new people and form lasting friendships?
For context, I don’t have many close friends as I've always been a bit shy and keep to myself. I don't know anyone in London, but I want to use this opportunity to reinvent myself and build a social circle of like-minded people.
